2023 World Baseball Classic: Schedule, dates, WBC groups, times, television channel, with competition underway

The 2023 World Baseball Classic is back. The occasion returned for the very first time in 6 years on Tuesday night (well, technically Wednesday early morning) as the Netherlands beat Cuba in the opener. The Netherlands are off to a 2-0 start, as Xander Bogaerts and Co. beat Panama in their 2nd video game. Shohei Ohtani and Japan got their competition began on Thursday, as Ohtani acted as the beginning pitcher and likewise gathered 2 hits in an 8-1 success over China. Italy and Australia, on the other hand, both managed surprise success over Cuba and Korea, respectively. Team U.S.A. begins swimming pool use Saturday versus Great Britain. 

This variation was initially expected to be played in 2021 however was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Action gets going on Wednesday, March 8 (technically very first pitch of the 2023 WBC opener in Taiwan will happen at 11 p.m. ET on March 7), and there will be an overall of 47 video games. The national championship is set for Tuesday, March 21 in Miami.
