Lakers' LeBron James was playing through torn tendon in foot, may need surgery, per report

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was playing through a torn tendon in his best foot which might need surgical treatment in the offseason, according to Shams Charania. James will have his foot re-evaluated in the future, and if a surgery is needed it would sideline him for 2 months. 

James initially hurt his foot on Feb. 26 throughout a routine season video game versus the Dallas Mavericks. On-court cams captured him stating “I heard it pop” while he was on the flooring, and though he played the rest of that video game he missed out on the Lakers’ next 13 video games. 

Upon his return on March 26, James exposed that several medical professionals recommended he required season-ending surgical treatment at the time, however he discovered “the LeBron James of feet,” who assisted him go back to the court. He played in each and every single video game the remainder of the method for the Lakers, assisting them enter the play-in competition as the No. 7 seed, and ultimately all the method to the Western Conference finals.

Whether James requires surgical treatment or not, he will be all set for the start of next season — that is, presuming he does not retire. During his Game 4 interview he referenced the possibility, though he is extensively anticipated to continue playing. Charania on Thursday included that he does not anticipate James to retire based upon what he’s been hearing.
