Mets owner Steve Cohen, unhappy with agent, wishes Steven Matz well

Mets owner Steve Cohen, in a short follow-up exchange following his tweet slamming Steven Matz’s representative, did reserve a couple of kind words for Matz himself.

“Not happy with the agent’s interaction with us,” Cohen, who was currently at work at his day task trading at his hedge fund, Point72, informed SNY. “I wish Matz well.”

On Tuesday night, Matz consented to a four-year, $44 million agreement with the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Mets were upset since of a belief obtained from discussions with representative Rob Martin that Matz wished to go back to New York, and would provide the possibility to match any deal.

Martin did not react to an ask for remark.

Earlier on Wednesday early morning, Cohen tweeted, “I’m not happy this morning. I’ve never seen such unprofessional behavior exhibited by a player’s agent. I guess words and promises don’t matter.”

Matz, obviously, was prepared and established by the Mets prior to taking pleasure in a profession renaissance in Toronto in 2015. He was 31-41, with a 4.35 PERIOD, in 6 years in New York. Last year, he was 14-7, with a 3.82 age with the Blue Jays.
