Rick Dhaliwal: “There was a story in Vancouver about the Canucks don’t have much cap area for July 1st. It’s actually hard moving bad agreements. Do you believe it could still be done?

I understand we July 1st isn’t too far. The (J.T.) Miller’s, the (Brock) Boerser, the (Tyler) Myers, the (Conor) Garland. It’s hard to move them. Is there a possibility it can occur?”

Friedman: “I believe there’s constantly a possibility. You understand what Rick, among the important things you constantly forget is, firstly, there is constantly groups who want to be brokers, depending upon what you’re willing to do. There are some groups who are not going to attempt to win next year, so you can call them and it depends upon what they’re willing to do to assist you. So that’s primary.

But the other thing is, and you constantly forget that this is, simply look now, like for instance here in Toronto where the city is burning down . Teams that lose in the playoffs, then they begin to state, ‘Okay, what do we want to do here? How does this change the way we’re going to do things?’ I believe you’re visiting that.

I believe groups that either miss out on the playoffs and still wish to compete. Or groups that get knocked out in the playoffs and wish to alter their mix, all of a sudden they begin taking a look around and state, ‘Okay, we weren’t here a month back now we’re here and what does that suggest?’

And I wouldn’t be shocked if the Canucks are going to have a few of those groups that simply missed out on the playoffs or a few of those groups that make the playoffs or get knocked out previously than they desire, they open possibilities since their scenario modifications.

So, I constantly believe there is a desire of groups to make relocations, alter their mix, and a few of those circumstances emerge throughout and after the playoffs that didn’t exist in the past. And I believe that’s going to occur. I believe there’s going to be groups out there that state, ‘Well, we didn’t have it with this group, what else do we went out there?’ Maybe they like something Vancouver’s got.

I believe there are going to be paths here for the Canucks to discover, they simply need to be a bit client to see how whatever plays out.”
