“Well is looks a little bit more positive as we start the week as it did coming out of the weekend. As we reported in the pregame of the Leafs video game night. Samsonov had a scan, an MRI on the leg, and the news sounds more favorable than possibly what was even anticipated.

So he’s anticipated to possibly be chosen possibly 10 days to 2 weeks. Then beyond that, you’ve got Matt Murray. Again, Sheldon Keefe acknowledging he’s anticipated to return on the ice today. Could he be readily available to the Toronto Maple Leafs as early as the weekend?

So appearance, it’s not always a crisis. It’s not a best circumstance. Although the method Erik Kallgrenn played night versus the Carolina Hurricanes, that a minimum of shows that what they have within the system, the Toronto Maple Leafs can assist them on a short-term basis.

But if it exceeds 10 day, 2 weeks, for Ilya Samsonov, we may be singing a various tune here.”

Jeff O’Neil when asked what the people in the space will be stating after management made the dangerous offseason acquisitions of Murray and Samsonov, and they browse the space and state, ‘we don’t have an NHL goaltender today.’ How stressed are they?

“You’re certainly worried Gino. You’re speaking about a group, they’ve all discussed it, We’ve understood what they’ve performed in the past in the playoffs, and they’re attempting to overcome that bulge.

And you’re rushing to discover goaltenders that have NHL experience. And you understand short-term it might most likely exercise and you’re going to get through it however long-lasting they’re believing, ‘it must be nice to have a bonafide veteran NHL goaltender who’s not injury vulnerable and we can all stress over our service.’

I’m not going to lie, it’s a diversion.  There’s not question about it.”
